The Funeral Suit

another death…

a celebration of life

gliding past in videos and photographs

of happier times when life was full

a black wool suit for a winters passing

a silk linen blend for warm weathers mourning

hanging in my closet never wanting to be worn

i’ve had them both for years, through too many a tear

droplets avowing the fabric of a life

i’ll slip it on again as my fingers caress

the past fibers of my grief

entwined throughout each thread

tears plummet onto my funeral suit once more

as I silently wonder how much further pain

my funeral suit can bear

    1. Coming from you, that means a lot. I humbly thank you.

You've stopped by my door, peeked in a bit; please leave a note and share your wit.
