A Family of None

Image

A family of none

convenes in silence

Like vultures they descend

feathers ruffled and furled

a dark night night awaits all who hope

the hope of the hopeless

A family of none

Gathering seeds

stowing them away

for when the other is starving

becomes a natural prey

A light shines o’er the house

only a few come out

in the darkness

their secrets locked away

A family of none

forever will be…

  1. Really liked this- well penned

    1. Thank you kindly! A little dark for this time of year – but realistic view of the other side of the holiday season for many.

You've stopped by my door, peeked in a bit; please leave a note and share your wit.
